Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) - AlpineHost

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) defines permitted and prohibited use of AlpineHost services.

AlpineHost implements information security practices based on internationally recognized standards, including ISO/IEC 27001. While not formally certified, we continuously align our processes with these frameworks to improve security and risk management.

This policy applies to all services, including shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, offshore hosting, and privacy-focused hosting.

2. General Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for all activities under their account and must:

• Comply with applicable laws, including those of Switzerland and relevant international regulations
• Maintain the security of their systems and credentials
• Respond promptly to abuse notifications

3. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited:

• Illegal content under applicable law
• Copyright or intellectual property violations
• Phishing pages and scam websites
• Fraudulent services (carding, fake shops, impersonation)
• Malware, ransomware, spyware, or exploit kits
• Child exploitation material (zero tolerance)
• Content promoting violence, terrorism, or hate

4. Prohibited Activities

4.1 Network Abuse

• Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks
• Port scanning or vulnerability probing
• Botnet operation or command-and-control servers

4.2 System Abuse

• Unauthorized access or privilege escalation
• Exploiting system vulnerabilities
• Running open proxies, VPN relays, or Tor exit nodes without approval

4.3 Fraud & Deception

• Phishing or social engineering
• Payment fraud or chargeback abuse infrastructure
• Identity impersonation

4.4 Email Abuse

• Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam)
• Operating open mail relays
• Forging email headers

5. Resource Usage

• Excessive CPU, RAM, or network usage is prohibited
• Shared hosting must not be used for high-load applications
• Abuse of resources may result in throttling or suspension

6. Anonymity & Privacy Networks

AlpineHost supports privacy-focused hosting; however:

• Use of anonymization technologies is permitted only if not used for abuse
• Tor exit nodes and open proxies require prior approval
• Customers remain responsible for all activity
